With about 100 teachers in 8 different European countries now using the EduTubePlus platform, the pilot test phase is now fully operational. Teachers are using the platform to find videos they can use in class, to create learning scenarios incorporating video clips and to upload their own, user-generated video clips. They are also using it to plan their lessons. Eighteen teachers entered the KlasCement office in Gent on Saturday 2 October around 9 am. They did not know each other and were quite curious about EduTubePlus. Wim was the instructor of the day. In the morning they investigated and tested the EduTubePlus website. Peter instructed the group about the tasks and the planning. After lunch they had a workshop about how to make a good video. The training workshop for the pilot phase in Greek schools was held on 20th of September in the Educational Radiotelevision offices in Athens. 18 teachers participated, representing 12 schools from primary and secondary public education. The UK workshop for the pilot phase was held between 10-11th September at the Village hotel in Leeds. Four schools were represented and seven participants attended the training from those schools. These include schools in London, Bradford, Sunderland and Islay, in Scotland. Workshops will be held in Greece, UK, Italy, Hungary, France, Finland, Belgium and Romania in September to prepare teachers taking part in the pilot. These workshops will include plenty of hands-on practice for the teachers to try out the various applications possible with the new EduTubePlus system. The system allows teachers to access professionally produced video clips, to upload their own user-generated video clips, to create and share learning scenarios using video clips and to access the online learning platform provided to the teachers taking part in the pilot phase.

Project partners met in Bucharest on 14-16 July in Siveco Headquarters to plan the final stages of the EduTubePlus project. This meeting included the annual meeting of all partners as well as a two day train the trainer workshop aimed at the national coordinators of the project trials which will begin in 8 counties in September. Involving over 70 teachers, these trials will continue until January 2011 and will provide the partners with important feedback about the operation of the EduTubePlus platform in schools.

A group of teachers from the Italian School, Fondazione Maddalena di Canossa in Bergamo, took part in a two day workshop on 1-2 July. This workshop on the 'Creation and Adaptation of Video Resources for Use in the Classroom' was part of their preparation work for the forthcoming pilot testing of the EduTubePlus platform which begins in September and was organised by Armando Persico and Iolanda Riseri from FMC.
